Gloucestershire Year Listers 2008

The Gloucestershire Birding League was popular with all those who have taken part for the last five years, so it will run again this year in the same format. For the purpose of this league we will use the list on site. Go to List, only species shown in red are not countable. Feral Pigeon, feral Barnacle Goose (breed at Frampton) and Greylag will be allowed. If in doubt about what you can count ask me. The following species can be counted on call (heard only) if you wish - Water Rail, Spotted Crake, Corncrake, Tawny Owl, Long-eared Owl, Nightjar, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Nightingale, Cetti's, Savi's and Grasshopper Warblers. The previous four year's Leagues are below this one. The record (as far as I know) was set in 2004 by Martin McGill and stands at 208. There are now to my knowledge five birders in the Gloucestershire 200 Club - Martin, Neil Smart, Andy Lodge, Steve Owen and myself. New members always welcome. How about this year?
