The Aquatic Warbler in Gloucestershire
An Aquatic Warbler was caught by John Wells and Mervyn Greening of the Severn Vale Ringing Group on Sunday 14th September 2003 at Ashleworth Ham. If accepted this will be the second record for Gloucestershire following an immature bird that was caught in a reedbed near Splatt Bridge on 12th August 1979 during a considerable movement of Sedge Warblers. John was lucky enough to be present when the first one was caught at Splatt Bridge too. Unfortunately the bird was not seen after release. These photos were submitted by John.
